The Tourism Development Department (TDD), Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism together with the Provincial Information, Culture and Tourism Department publishes annually tourism statistics relating to tourist arrivals, foreign exchange earnings from tourism, tourist expenditures, the average length of stay of tourists in Laos as well as tourist profiles, accommodation establishments and occupancy rates.
Due to the heavily outbreak of the COVID-19 in regional and international, Lao PDR has taken the measurement to close all the international checkpoints as a result there was no international arrivals in 2021. The purpose of this Statistical Report on Tourism is to provide the basic information for the relevant stakeholders / parties to further research and study purposes since tourism is one of important sector that contribute to the Lao economy.
